I posted on facebook looking for anyone that needed real estate photos taken so that I could improve my portfolio and skills.
Someone saw that post and referred me to the client for this rental space, so we set a time and I got to work.
As I got into the space I took time to look at all it had to offer and start to get a feel how I wanted to shoot it.
Right off the bat I noticed that there were a lot of miss matched lightbulbs throughout the space so I made the choice to take the 5000k bulbs I could find and use them for all the rooms I shot. This for sure added a lot of time in the space, but I feel was certainly worth the effort.
I decided to shoot F8, 100iso, Aperture priority and bracketed 2ev 5 shots. This worked pretty well but in post found out that 3 shots worked better and the 5 shots too a lot of extra time for the highest exposure.

I did use a polarizer throughout the shoot which I don’t think was a great idea considering there was essentially only one area (the kitchen) that it had any effect in.

For the final selections I narrowed it down to 25 as I hear that is the standard delivery for real estate photos and I agree with the variety and detail offered at 25.
All in all I think it went quite well and I learned a lot in the process which should help me take less time for equal or better results in the future.
